ASSE 6005 — Medical Gas Systems Generalist

The ASSE 6005 Medical Gas Systems Generalist certification is designed for medical gas supervisors, architects, engineers, code officials, administrators, project managers, estimators, or anyone else who has an interest in the proper design, installation, use, and maintenance of medical gas and vacuum systems at health care facilities.

Please note: This certification does not qualify individuals to install, work on, inspect, or certify medical gas systems.

Eligibility Requirements

  • No prior work experience is required to sit for the ASSE 6005 certification
  • Candidates must complete a minimum 24-hour training course covering ASSE Standard 6005 and applicable sections of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55
  • Training must be delivered by an ASSE 6050 certified instructor
  • Candidates must successfully pass the final examination upon completion of training
