Medical Gas Systems – ASSE Series 6000 Re-Certification

MGTI certifications are valid for three years. The recertification programs enable certified professionals to maintain their credential status based on current code editions including NFPA 99, NFPA 55, and CGA M-1.

Recertification Requirements

  • Hold active certification and complete the recertification program before your certification expires
  • Complete a four-hour training course addressing code changes since your last certification, taught by an ASSE 6050 or 6055 certified instructor
  • Pass the written examination with the required minimum score for your certification level

Minimum Passing Scores

70% required:
  • ASSE 6005 — Generalist
  • ASSE 6010 — Installer
  • ASSE 6015 — Bulk Installer
  • ASSE 6020 — Inspector
  • ASSE 6040 — Maintenance
85% required:
  • ASSE 6030 — Verifier
  • ASSE 6035 — Bulk Verifier
  • ASSE 6050 — Instructor
ASSE 6010 Installers: Must provide current ASME IX brazing certification proof at the time of recertification.

Certification Transfer

MGTI accepts valid ASSE 6000 certifications from other Third Party Certification Agencies. Approved transfers require completion of MGTI's recertification program. Applications must include:

  • Current certification documentation from the originating agency
  • Brazing continuity proof (for installers/brazers)
