ASSE 6020 — Medical Gas Systems Inspector

The ASSE 6020 certification targets personnel looking to get involved in the inspection of medical gas and vacuum systems in healthcare facilities. It covers knowledge of installation, testing, and code requirements per NFPA 99, NFPA 55, and related standards.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidates must work for a government entity as a plumbing/mechanical inspector or administrator, OR be regularly involved in design/inspection/verification of medical gas systems, OR hold ASSE 6010 Installer certification
  • Minimum two years of documented experience (or equivalent combination)
  • Successful completion of a 24-hour training course covering all aspects of ASSE Standard 6020
  • Passing score on the final examination
